Woman of the Year Nomination

The "Woman of the Year" Award honours exceptional women in Bermuda who have made remarkable contributions to their community, careers, and the advancement of women’s issues.

IWD Bermuda invites the public to submit nominations for the 2025 Woman of the Year. The essential criteria for nominations are outlined below.

Please complete and submit your nomination form by 5:00 PM on Monday, February 10, 2025.

The 2025 recipient will be announced at our annual International Women’s Day celebration on Friday March 7th.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for nomination, the candidate must meet the following criteria:

  1. Gender Identification
    The nominee must be a woman or identify as female.

  2. Citizenship
    The nominee must be Bermudian.

  3. Criminal Record
    The nominee must have no previous convictions.

Character and Achievements of Eligible Nominees

Nominees for the IWD Woman of the Year should exemplify the following qualities and accomplishments:

  1. Community Advocacy and Engagement

    • Actively involved in at least one community organisation or initiative.

    • Demonstrates visible contributions to the community within the past year.

    • Serves as a spokesperson or advocate for community and/or women’s issues.

    • Shows unwavering commitment to the betterment of the community.

    • Actively seeks to empower women and specifically promotes the advancement of women’s issues in Bermuda.

  2. Personal and Professional Achievements

    • Makes significant contributions to work, education, or community.

    • Acts as a catalyst or achieves unique accomplishments in advancing women’s issues.

    • Holds credentials that highlight career achievements.

    • Recognised as a thought leader in their field.

  3. Leadership and Character

    • Inspires others through both words and actions.

    • Demonstrates leadership in her career and personal endeavours.

    • Leads authentically with a strong commitment to her values.

  4. Role Model and Mentorship

    • Serves as an inspirational and positive role model, overcoming adversity with vision and resilience.

    • Displays a willingness to assist other women in their personal and professional development.

    • Demonstrates excellence in leadership while supporting others to achieve similar goals.

  5. Promotion of Diversity and Inclusion

    • Advocates for a Bermuda free from bias, stereotypes, and discrimination.

    • Champions diversity, equity, and inclusion within the community.

    • Celebrates and values differences across Bermuda.
